The NWCH replace lowest price tendering with long-term, collaborative relationships between clients, professionals and contractors, formed around shared objectives and common values. The result is less waste, less duplication, local engagement and greater efficiencies which give better value for money.
The NWCH was established in 2009 in response to Central Government’s drive to improve efficiencies within the public sector. We operate across the North West, including the counties of Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester Lancashire and Merseyside.
Whilst the NWCH is a trading company within Manchester City Council, it is led by a Board comprising representatives from public sector organisations across the North West.
The North West Construction Hub collects Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data across our Frameworks. This data provides Clients with an understanding of how their project compares both nationally and against other hub projects, as well as providing NWCH with a platform for managing performance.
We offer a suite of three Construction Frameworks all of which have been reprocured with enhancements during 2014/5:
High Value: £9m+
Medium Value : £2m - £9m
Low Value : £500k - £2m
Each of these have a number of lots available, covering regional, sub-regional, D&B and Construct only.
We also have a Consultants Framework – Engineering and Professional Services (EPS) which compliments the Construction Frameworks.
Our success to date is due to the collaborative environment in which we encourage our clients and constructor partners to operate. We invite our clients to regular meetings to discuss a range of topics and encourage feedback. Our constructor partners lead on a number of Special Interest Groups – all of which are focussed on improving performance and service. These include Supply Chain, Training and Employment and BIM.
Our client base has developed over the lifetime of the frameworks and now includes Local Authorities, Local Government, Blue Light Authorities, Universities and Colleges, NHS Foundation Trusts, Housing Trusts, Transport Boards and Free Schools.
We strive to continually improve the performance of the Frameworks.
