Conlon Construction donate a defibrillator to the staff at Heaton Park
Conlon Construction have recently donated a defibrillator to the staff at Heaton Park. As part of the donation Conlon also arranged training for all the staff which was carried out by Sian Edwards from Heartbeat, the North West’s leading cardiac rehabilitation charity.
There are approximately 30,000 ‘out of hospital’ cardiac arrests per year in the UK. If a defibrillator is used and effective CPR is performed within 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest, survival chances increase from 6% to 74%.
Heaton Park is visited by more than 1.2 million people annually and the staff now have the confidence to potentially save lives.
20% of the quality submission on any NWCH project is based on a contractor’s ability to contribute towards the social value of the local economy and this is an excellent example of social value in practice.
