NWCH Digital Construction SIG release plain language BIM guides

The construction industry is on a journey in adopting and developing BIM, with the government requiring all publicly funded projects to implement BIM Level 2. To aid in this, the NWCH Digital Construction Special Interest Group have created a series of BIM one page guides for local authority and public sector organisations.

The group serves as NWCH’s forum to drive innovation within public sector projects across the North West, with representation from all 18 NWCH Framework Partners, clients and academics from the School of the Built Environment at the University of Salford. It is a forum to share skills and ideas between contractors as well as a resource to assist clients to overcome barriers to getting the best out of Digital Construction technologies.

The following series of plain language documents, which cover a range of BIM topics, are an excellent example of collaboration between our 18 framework partners. The documents are a result of much debate, which allowed the group to align their opinions and interpretation of the requirements of BIM Level 2.

If you are a past, present or future client, or curious about the NWCH Digital Construction Special Interest Group and wish to learn more, please contact Lewis Sharman at nwch@manchester.gov.uk
