Open Doors offers a unique change to see behind the scenes at major ‘live’ construction sites across England, Scotland and Wales. If enables the general public to see how the buildings in their community are constructed, and to find out about the diverse range of skills and professions needed on site.
“Morgan Sindall are excited to be participating in this year’s Open Doors event where we are showcasing four of our North West Construction Hub procured projects. Open Doors is delivered by Build UK in partnership with the CITB, as part of the Inspiring Construction campaign. We are providing the public with the opportunity to visit live construction sites and go ‘behind the scenes’ to explore our projects in their current stage of construction. These events provide people from the local community with a great insight into the real workings of a live site and will allow Morgan Sindall to showcase the huge variety of careers available to them; there are so many roles and skill sets that are encompassed by the construction industry – many of which people may just not be aware of!” Gill Roberts, Community Investment Manager
Vicky Hutchinson, National Frameworks Social Responsibility Manager at ISG, said: “Open Doors is a fantastic opportunity for the general public to get a glimpse behind the hoardings, and, better still, for people young and old to see the number of roles and disciplines that come together to deliver construction projects procured through NWCH. Because so many companies come together to participate in Open Doors, people are more likely to find an event ‘on their doorstep’ and a door that’s open to them.”
