Q&A with Katie Rothwell-Emery…

What is your role at NWCH?

I am currently involved in the reprocurement of the 3rd iteration of the NWCH Frameworks but in the new year will be managing the new Professional Services Framework in which is a joint procurement with NWCH and Southern Construction Framework (SCF), enabling clients swift and simple access to multi disciplinary design and management professionals; specialists in delivering successful outcomes through integrated working… Exciting times!

How have you found working on the reprocurement of the frameworks?

Working on reprocurement is always a really busy time. This is the third iteration of the NWCH Frameworks and I am proud to be part of the success of the hub. We have successfully re-procured the High and Medium Value Frameworks and currently working on the Low Value Framework which will go live in January 2020.

What do you like most about working at NWCH?

I love what the Hub stands for and for what it strives to achieve by collaborative working which has been hugely successful. It is well regarded and long may that continue.

What’s your background?

I started off as a Recruitment Consultant before moving to the Co-operative to do their internal recruitment and then to Manchester City Council as a Senior Recruitment Coordinator, progressing to Manager.

I eventually moved over to Capital Programme Division for a new challenge as a Project Manager before joining the team to set up the NWCH Frameworks and have been there ever since!

What are the values that drive you?

Making a difference… Over the years I have realised that making a difference is the value that drives me the most. I struggle ‘just doing a job’ without it meaning anything or making a difference to anything or anyone. Working as part of the NWCH Team you can see how the projects that go through the Hub make a difference and how they benefit the Community with the Social Value outcomes.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I used to do Amateur Dramatics but unfortunately don’t have ‘spare time’ anymore so now I just drink wine!  No, on a serious note when I am not working I usually provide a taxi service to my two young children who seem to have a better social life than me! I also enjoy taking our Labradoodle, Snuggles, on walk as it gives me a chance for a bit of peace!! Now, back to the wine…..:)
