Saughall Massie Fire Station becomes operational ahead of schedule
Smooth handover of the new operational single-storey two-bay fire station in Wirral for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Authority has taken place. This is the second successfully delivered fire station procured in the batch through the NWCH High Value Framework and was handed over ahead of schedule.
The commitment to the NWCH KPI’s is underlined whereby the team at Saughall Massie delivered over 500 hours of education engagement activities for local students as well as being joined on site by 9 apprentices.
Throughout its construction, the Saughall Massie Fire Station team provided 341 apprenticeship weeks, 42 training weeks, 24 work placements and delivered 27 community activities for local people.
As part of the ongoing engagement a community defibrillator was donated, which has now been installed permanently on the site of Saughall Massie Fire Station.
Over the past four years NWCH and Wates have worked closely with our Merseyside Fire & Rescue Authority and the local community to create two state-of-the-art facilities that will enhance the high standards at Saughall Massie and Prescot.
