Taking to the hoops for charity
NWCH Framework partner ISG recently took on Manchester City Council (MCC) in a wheelchair basketball match to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, raising £499.70 thanks to the fundraising efforts of the teams and ISG’s supply chain.
The closely fought game saw ISG take four hoops against the team, fielded from MCC’s Capital Programme and Procurement Department, to win the match.
The event took place at Belle Vue Sports Village, on the National Basketball Performance Centre courts, on Thursday, March 15. The final score was 8:2, with plans underway for a rematch.
“This money will go to support the many people battling cancer in the UK, and I am sure all of the players will join me in thanking every single person and company that supported this event. It was great to come together through the contracts we are delivering through the NWCH and do something great for charity. We can’t wait to get back on the court for a rematch, I am sure MCC will bring their game to exact their revenge.” Neil Walker, Framework Director, ISG
